Education

Giving our children the opportunity to understand their heritage, culture and religion is core to our beliefs. We are proud of the warmth and welcome of our thriving religion school which caters for children from 4 to 13. Classes meet between 9:00 and 11:00 on Shabbat mornings so families can enjoy Saturday morning services together after religion school which forms part of the learning experience.

The two hour session is split into two parts; the first covering Hebrew and the second focusing on Jewish history, heritage and culture – leading from the first tentative steps of the Aleph, Bet to achieving Bar/Bat Mitzvah fluency and a good understanding and working knowledge of Judaism and all its nuances.

The young people are grouped together by age as follows:

ELS Class School Year
Kitah Aleph Reception through Year 2
Kitah Beit School Years 3 and 4
Kitah Gimel School Years 5 & 6
Kitah Dalet School Years 7 & 8 (B'nei Mitvah)

Adults

We believe that learning never stops and you are never too old to gain knowledge and skills. Here at ELS we hold regular adult education sessions.  Please contact us if you would like any more information at ealingliberalsynagogue@gmail.com
